Laid Off?

The year 2001 could be labeled as the "Laid Off" year. Companies have gotten rid of employees in record numbers. It is not unusual to read in our local newspapers that so and so company has let go thousands of employees at once. If you are among these unfortunate statistics, knowing that you are among thousands can be very little or no consolation.

Once the shock of finding yourself without a job diminishes you must realize that just because you were fire doesn't mean you don't have a job, because you do. Your new job is finding employment. This is a full time job.

You must get up early every day to start working on finding a job. Write letters, fine tune tour resume, meet with people, network. It is now more important than ever to stay busy.
